Water pollution threatens not only humanity, but the entire life system of the planet. The need to protect marine species and the whole biosphere is one on the most urgent nowadays in order to safe the environment and ensure future sustainability.
Many problems connected with water pollution and scarcity are transboundary. That forces the mutual dependence of the countries on each other.

Hey gyes!I agree with you all.Every single species of life on the planet is depended on the water.(animals,humen,plants)Anyway,since the topic is animals,I'm gonna refer to them.You've already mentioned the problems that marine life deals with,due to the pollution of oceans and seas.Moreover,you've mentioned that many animals should adjust to new conditions,now that our climate is changing.To this,I'd like to add a more specific example,the polar bears.Everyone knows,that polar bears cannot live without ice,and as glaciers melt and are replaced with water,polar bears can no longer go out for hunting.Therefore,there is reduction of their body fat and deterioration of their health.As a result,they become smaller and weaker and many claim that in a couple of years,if we do not do something to conserve our environment and whole planet,they will be just a memory.....

We should think environment as a whole. Water is a need for every living organism. Human beings, animals, plants etc... Living in Turkey, we have three seas around our country. So we have a great range of marine ecosystems around us. We must have the responsibility for supplying clean water for the existence of biodiversity. Today, we are facing the threat of pollution in many parts of our water systems. In the last decade, we have witnessed a strict operation due to the pollution occured by industrialisation in Haliç (Golden Horn). It was nearly destroyed. The natural beauty has the second chance to get alive after organising a cooperated operation. We should increase the number of these operations as being a unique body.

there're a lot of animals in the sea so it's very important to keep them alive. we have to protect the water for animal's life because the water is an environment for water animals like fish.. we have to do something for animal's environment..for instance; people must avoid throwing wastes and not to pour toxic and poisonous chemicals to seas,lakes,rivers in order to preserve animal's life.

On the whole, water represents a great part of living beings.

Animals are living beings,

Animals are living beings, and they also bear the consequences of water pollution as well as people .. Aquatic animals are most vulnerable because it is tracked their natural habitat, water, and if it is contaminated, they are vulnerable.

But other animals, whose natural habitat of the country, are also vulnerable, because they are also users of line. But we are the only living beings that it can change their actions .. We should save water not only for us but also for all other creatures that live on the planet.

I absolutely agree with all of you...We don't really recognize that there is a lot of life under water until some of us talk about it.
The pollution of the sea is also accounting for the global warming: because of the dirt and oil the coral reefs are dying and the sea gets warmer and warmer. This is also a reason for new animals and plants which are poluting the water.
We did a "great" work in destroying our environment...and I really hope that we can do a better work in changing it to the good side.

I saw recently a documentary about water pollution.A ship crushed on the rocks.Well,the bad thing is,that this ship had oil and all the oil spread in the sea.....A DISASTER!!!!!!!!All the animals,which lived in the water,the birds,the plants.....everything died.And this happens in reality,too.

SMALL CHANGES

In my opion everybody is able to do something to protect the animals. For example, we should drive more slowly during the frog´s migration or we don´t have to buy things which are made of coral or fur. There are lots of examples and these are just small changes which can everyone arrange in his life but these little things could mean many saved animal lives.

Some animals are bioindicators that means they are very sensitive to pollution and climate changes and that´s why we are always able to see the consequences of human activites which are not only positive, unfortunately. We must protect all life-forms on this planet including animals :-)

Every hyman animal and genarally every living organism on planet earth is depended on water. Any water pollution or defeciency leads species to extinction. Some animals are able to survive longer than others without water but still they need it to live. No matter how strong they might be to cope with the changes they cant stay alive forever. In Greece for instance there are those animals called kri-kri (a goat), which live in islands. There drinkable water is in very small amounts and sometimes they drink seawater to quench their thirst. They may get used to it after some time and also like it because it offers them an important salts and chlorine, which they mostly need on summer. But they don’t survive for long. They die early…animals can simply not leave without clean fresh water.

Camels are able to drink until 120L of water in the space of 10min !
Also, it is able not to drink during 3 weeks.
And we all think that their bumps contain the water they drink, in reality, it's wrong...

Where the water is present everything becomes green. No human being could survive on earth without water. Animals look for the water to survive. When it is rare they are capable of crossing kilometres to find it. The water is essential in plants, in animals and in human beings.

Animals living in water or on land, depend of water. Fishes and other water animals suffer of water temperature and water cleanliness, animals that live on land suffer only of water cleanliness. We have to protect them but everything is connected with global warming and dropping rubbish into seas, lakes or rivers...

I will agree with Marta Rosario that this Parliament's Topic is water shortage and water crisis in general and what we should do to prevent that the lack of useful and drinkable water affects the human kind more that is already done.

the problem

This problem starts from the fact that all pollution is caused by our actions. We are the only culprit for these problems, the only ones who need to be blamed for the nowday situation and the life we live. We pollute water, so the only solution to these problems is that we STOP with the pollution of the river and sea water. We need to control each other and stop throwing the trash into the water. When we do that, we endanger, not only animals lives, but our life in general!

I read somewhere that decades

I read somewhere that decades of lost food supplies on the mainland, and that humanity will eat only seafood. That would probably be to man all the persistently do not pollute the water space and destroys the animal species ... Did you know that > in one day die on average 3 animal species? it is disappointing information. Just knowing that around the Amazon River which is the richest water river of the world, is the largest number of animal and plant species--this is sufficient view of that how animals and water are related.

I don´t think that we should be selfish about this. I know that animals aren´t so depending on drinking water but this forum isn´t only about drinking water and if we look for example at oil disasters on the sea caused by tankers we'll see that there are the animals that are in danger and often die so we have to be very responsible when it comes to actions which can pollute the water and destroy the water life. Animals are very important for our ecosystem and we should take care about them now in 21st century.
DON´T FORGET THE LIFE IN WATER.

i absolutly agree with Maria. the animals are important, we need them to survive too (it´s one of the source of our feed), but they are not so independant of drinking water as we. that´s why we should be a little bit selfish in this..

I agree with you: animals are the first protagonists suffering from the climatic changes and the lack of water. in Canade for instance, many species have already disappeared as black-footed ferrets, winged foxes, giant auks or passenger pigeons. Around the world, robbins have died out too... It is necessary to take action now if we don't want the extinction of other species.

Oceans

In my opinion, the reason why we don't talk about animals is, for example, the animals that live in the oceans, such as fish, whales and dolphins "only" suffer from pollution and fishing, they don't have water crisis, they don't die because they are thirsty. We are the ones who need fresh water to survive and are running out of it...
But obviously, we should care about them, as we are the ones destroying and polluting their habitats.
