Dear Members of the ESP,
This week, we do have something special. In order to support your efforts to outline the topic for our conference 2010, the Institute for Sanitary Environmental Engineering at RWTH Aachen University has recently conducted a baseline study on behalf of the ESP.
The text shall provide you with basic knowledge of the main water-related problems that we will be confronted with today or in the future, such as water availability, climate change, urbanisation, demographic change and conflict potential. It also shows some basic concepts and terminology that are used in the present scientific discussions on water all over the world, for example the Virtual Water Concept and the Water Footprint. Last but not least, there are many suggestions for your discussions and there are also a number of websites and literature listed at the end of the document, both of which might prove useful.
Should there be questions or remarks, please note the following: there is no special forum for discussions related to the study. This is because we want you to use the correct categories
(i.e. subforums) for the discussions. You have to decide whether your question or remark is more related to technology, politics, society, economy or your individual responsibility. You can always ask the mods if you are unsure where to post a comment.
